Integral Eye

Movement Therapy?

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) can help with many issues including post-traumatic stress, phobias, anxiety, depression, insomnia, addictions, guilt issues, shame, stress, eating disorders, sadness. It is similar to Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is used within the NHS. If you have disturbing memories, flashbacks and/or intrusive imagery or any of the conditions mentioned above, IEMT may offer some relief.

IEMT is a developing quick change therapy that explores the area of undesired emotions and our ways of being. The process explores the question, "How did we learn to feel the way that we feel?" and offers the chance to create the appropriate change in our emotional lives. IEMT is content-free; you will not need to disclose or talk about your past stories, which may provide a greater sense of freedom. Please note that this is a not a talking therapy model, transactional analysis or hypnotherapy. This model is based on eye movement techniques and protocol allowing you to accurately measure and assess the changes that are taking place in real time.

Clients have said that their problematic thoughts don't evoke the same feelings anymore after receiving this form of treatment, even though they really try to bring those specific emotions back into their mind and body. This is usually followed by astonishment and bewilderment because they cannot access those feelings anymore. The memory doesn’t go away, but the way it affects them has dramatically changed.

At times, and where appropriate, I also integrate yoga/movement/breathing therapy to help shifting further the undesired emotions, making my integrative approach truly innovative.

Sessions can take place online or in-person.
